A Typical Day in the Life of Hannah
I think we can all agree that life is hectic. Studies show that we are not getting
enough sleep, we are too stressed, over scheduled … We are also dragging our kids
into our same lifestyle with too many activities and not enough down time.
Take a look at Hannah’s busy schedule…. Obviously she is not there yet!

Back to School: To Bus or not to Bus?
Well, better late than never. Here are a few back to school pictures.
Last school year was about 7 weeks for Hannah. Since there wasn’t much of a year
and Hannah didn’t know much English, we opted against using the bus service. Hannah
never showed much interest in the bus — door
to door drop off was more her style. So when school started again, we never really
brought the bus up. It seemed easier to do the drop off and pick up. We had hopes
that maybe after the Christmas break she would feel comfortable enough to take
a bus.
Color us surprised when on the second day of school Hannah mentioned taking the
bus. The minute we showed excitement in that idea she started backing off of it.
Eventually, though, we convinced her to try it. So finally our little girl is taking
her first bus ride! (It’s the little things.)
Hannah has been doing really well in school. She is staying in with her 4th grade
class for the whole day this year. Her ESL teacher is spending time with her in class
instead of pulling her out. Her reading and writing are coming along wonderfully.
Speech is a little slower. She understands almost all of what we say but has trouble
getting more complex ideas across to us. When she tells us stories they are still
very disjointed and hard to piece together. We are OK with that since she is very
much still keeping her Chinese.
On to the pics.
Preparing herself for the first bus ride!
